What is the scariest movie of all time?
While you might get a variety of answers, a report by Forbes citing a scientific study called the ‘Science of Scare Project’ may have brought closure to the age-old question. The research, conducted by Broadband Choices, presents the heart rates of 50 people of different ages as they watched over 100 hours of horror films.
Based on the research, the team narrowed down the 35 most terrifying movies ever made, and it has ranked Scott Derrickson’s 2012 film Sinister as the “scariest” movie ever. During the film, the average heart rate of viewers rose to 86 BPM, which is a 32-percent increase from the average BPM.
Other movies that made the list were Insidious, The Conjuring and The Ring. Check out the infographic here for the full list.
