The famous animated sitcom The Simpsons has been reimagined in the style of filmmaker Wes Anderson.
Anderson is known for his recognizable quirky and whimsical visual style. In a recent project, home improvement website HomeAdvisor decided to recreate six iconic rooms from The Simpsons into Wes Anderson-inspired sets.
The redesigned rooms include the Simpsons’ Living Room, The Simpsons’ Kitchen, Lisa’s bedroom, Moe’s Tavern, the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant and Mr Burn’s office. Each room is reimagined into a Wes Anderson set, incorporating pastel colors and quirky furniture.
According to HomeAdvisor, it analyzed the aesthetics of Anderson’s actual movies, like The Grand Budapest Hotel, Moonrise Kingdom, Fantastic Mr. Fox and The Darjeeling Limited to ensure The Simpsons’ interiors look like real-life sets from the movie.
The Simpsons kitchen has gone full pink, a shade inspired from The Grand Budapest Hotel while Lisa Simpson’s bedroom has a tinge of pink and a Damask wallpaper paired well with a vintage bookcase.
Moe’s Tavern, on the other hand, gets a full makeover inspired by the faded imperial “glory” of The Darjeeling Limited’s interiors. The Tavern now boasts ornate patterned windows and gold leaf paneled ceiling.
