This year, Adobe hosted its annual ticketed MAX event virtually, and even made it free for everyone to attend no matter where they were.
With people across the globe using their time at home to up-skill or brush up on their knowledge, the Adobe MAX Conference saw a concentration of interest in back-to-basics tutorials for software like Photoshop, as well as techniques to build a presence virtually.
The new digital format propelled it to become the “world’s biggest creativity conference ever,” and the event ended up amassing over 21 million total video views and more than 50 million social interactions globally.
Adobe has since shared the top five most popular sessions from the conference with DesignTAXI, which you can check out below. You can also view most of this year’s sessions on-demand right here.
Photoshop for Beginners and Users Who Need a Refresher: Part 1
In this session by Photoshop Educator Dave Cross, viewers will discover Photoshop’s most essential tools and features, and learn new ways to ensure a productive workflow.

Instead of taking the risk of redesigning your logo from the ground up, why not animate it? You’ll learn to do this in motion designer Eran Stern’s tutorial, where he walks you through creating an After Effects composition from stationary art, designing and adding texture to a 3D multilayered logo, and more.
Telling a Story in 60 Seconds or Less: Making Kick-Ass Social Videos
In another popular lesson from filmmaker Amber Torrealba, you’ll pick up essentials on creating “engaging storytelling” to build your social media presence, ways to produce higher-quality videos on your smartphone, and shooting techniques to ensure greater convenience in post-production.
InDesign Type and Layout Part 1: Structure and Hierarchies
Your message can’t communicate properly without good typography. In graphic designer Nigel French’s sought-after session, he shows you how to design legible and dynamic typographic layouts. You’ll also learn to work with grids and white space to bring more visual structure and hierarchy to your projects.
