MUJI has opened the doors of its single-story prefabrication house in Japan’s Yamaguchi prefecture.
The house is known as yō no ie (plain house) and it incorporates MUJI’s minimalist values while remaining functional. The house features large openings that connect to an expansive terrace.
It has an open layout that comes with movable partitions to divide the space when needed, along with large floor-to-ceiling windows and a sloped ceiling to allows more light to enter the home. The house also has a large outdoor deck that lets you connect with nature.
The home’s flexible configuration is capable of adapting to changes in working and living habits for a diverse range of lifestyles. The house, priced at US$160,000, is sized at roughly 101.85 square meters (1,096 square feet) and made out of cedar, giving off a more organic feel. You can read more about the project here.
