After months of quarantine, it’s probably the best time to be served like royalty—and one hotel has a service dedicated to that. The Drake Hotel in Chicago has introduced a Princess Diana-inspired package that provides all the items the People’s Princess was served during her stay there in 1996.
With the ‘Crowning a Lady’ package, you’ll sleep in the very suite Princess Diana rested in during her first and only visit to Chicago. The room was once called the Presidential Suite, but was christened to the Princess Diana Suite soon after her visit.
You’ll also have the same items she requested, such as her favorite forget-me-nots, the Quelques Fleurs by Houbigant Paris perfume, a stationary bike, and mineral water.
Of course, you’ll dine like royalty too. The package comes with afternoon tea service at the Palm Court featuring her favorite Rose Pouchong tea, as well as all the small bites that were served to her, like a fresh salad, king salmon, and a cinnamon biscotti soufflé.
Further, guests will be invited to a white-glove service where they can view Princess Diana’s signature in the official Drake Hotel autograph book.
The launch of the package coincides with the new season of The Crown, so the suite has also been optimized for binge-watching sessions.
The service will be available through 15 December, but you’ll need a royal’s budget to indulge in it—the package starts at an extravagant US$32,000 for a two-night stay.
