Fans oohed and ahhed when they spotted Baby Yoda sipping on a bowl of soup, but they’ll likely hem and haw when they realize just how expensive his favorite new macarons are.
In The Siege, the latest episode in Disney+’s The Mandalorian, The Child was like all of us during the macaron craze and stopped at close to nothing to have a taste of the space macarons a kid on Nevarro was savoring. The young student was hesitant to share his meringue cookies, so, in a sneaky fight between The Child and the child, Baby Yoda went ahead and stole them with his little critter hands.
Well, it turns out that Baby Yoda is one high-maintenance baby. Following the episode, Williams Sonoma has started selling the same treats, which it calls ‘Nevarro Nummies Macarons’, at an extravagant US$49.95 for a pack of 12. No wonder the kid was so hesitant to let the character have some.
The macarons’ description reads, “Inspired by a sweet moment when a young Nevarro student debated sharing his treats with the Child, 21st-century artisans in California have created these ethereal French-style almond macarons capturing the essence of this scene with Nevarro Nummies.”
The company says each cookie is “artfully hand-piped” with a vanilla cream filling “for authentic galactic flavor.”
It’s time to save up to see what you’ve been missing out on. Or just swipe them from a kid.
