Twitter is wrapping up 2020 by putting some of its popular tweets about 2020 on advertising spaces across New York City.
The posters and billboards, which are part of Twitter’s out-of-home campaign, aim to show how tweets have connected people across the globe and made them laugh during a difficult year.
The platform shared photos of some of the billboards that were displayed around the city. Some of the humorous posts include, “2020… girl… what happened,” “Dear 2021, Please don’t tell 2020 to hold your beer. Please,” and, “Before I agree to 2021 I need to see some terms and conditions.”
Robin Tilotta, director of marketing at Twitter, said, “In light of everything that’s happened this year, we are excited to amplify the humor and levity that people brought to Twitter.”
“These are the tweets that connected and uplifted us, and we hope people join us in celebrating the end of 2020,” Tilotta continued.
