Kia could be unveiling a new logo alongside an all-new slogan. According to Korean Car Blog, the Korean car maker might be dropping the old slogan “The Power to Surprise” to adopt a new one—“Movement that Inspires.”
The company filed a trademark for the new logo on the Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service (KIPRIS) website back in December 2019. It also registered for a trademark on the new slogan.
If this is confirmed, the slogan will appear hand-in-hand with a new wordmark, which sees the company removing the old oval in favor of a minimalist script. The new slogan and logo reaffirm the company’s commitment towards cutting-edge technology that will drive its next-generation products.
Through the new identity, Kia aims to showcase its ability to adapt to changing dynamics in the automotive world. Kia plans to move forward with its Plan Shift (Plan S) strategy, which involves focusing on electric vehicles. It has already confirmed that it will drive in seven EVs in seven years.
According to Kia’s new global head, the company hopes to be more “dynamic, stylish and inventive.” The new identity could help shake off its former image of being a budget-friendly brand.
