If you’re looking to escape for a week, the Göteborg Film Festival might get you covered.
The festival is offering a lucky cinephile and a companion the chance to enjoy time off in isolation on the lighthouse island of Pater Noster in the North Sea.
The lighthouse is said to be “perched at the very edge of the archipelago in one of Sweden’s most barren, windswept locations.”
According to the organizers, the guest will have to provide reports about the 60 films every day and share his or her experience of being alone in the vast sea. The festival came up with the novel Social Distances offering, which seems appropriate for the COVID-19 era.
Interested applicants can apply to the program via the festival’s website. The selected participant will be announced on 19 January, and isolation will begin for a week from 30 January.
