Brewdog has launched a petition to rename a Scottish airport as “Joe Biden International.” The move comes after rumors swirling that Donald Trump is set to fly to Scotland.
Brewdog’s co-founder James Watt announced the move on Twitter, after Trump’s refusal to attend president Joe Biden’s inauguration.
“Apparently, Donald Trump is scheduled to arrive in Scotland later this week. He always flies into Glasgow Prestwick Airport. So @BrewDog have started a petition to rename this airport ‘Joe Biden International’. People of Scotland, the petition is here,” Watt tweeted. The post has been taken down at the time of writing.
The petition has close to 15,000 signatures, and some of the comments include, “This would be fantastically Scottish thing to do!” and “Donald Trump is not welcome in Scotland.”
According to Scotsman, Trump’s potential Scotland trip has impelled many politicians in Scotland to bar him from entering due to the Capitol Riots in Washington DC. The publication described him as a “dangerous criminal” who should be prosecuted.
