Skincare Brand Topicals Celebrates Various Skin Types In Refreshing Campaign

Skincare brand Topicals has released a new advertisement that celebrates skin in any condition.
The Good Skin campaign recognizes various skin conditions, but instead of being negative about some of them, the brand uplifts them.
The clip shows girls wearing pops of colorful makeup, except that each model has visible skin conditions such as eczema and acne. “You make skin look good, not the other way around,” reads the end of the video.
“We created the Good Skin campaign because society had done away with the saying ‘good hair’, so we knew it was time to retire ‘good skin’ too,” said Olamide Olowe, co-founder of Topicals. “Topicals is a new generation of [a] brand with a compelling mission to change the conversation from negative and shameful, to one that is positive, inclusive, and fun.”
Olowe added that Topical wants to champion the “idea of less painful, less frequent breakouts” with its products as some skin conditions aren’t curable.
Skin conditions, such as hyperpigmentation and flare-ups, are usually deemed as undesirable, but Topicals hopes that it will be able to change that perception and remind the public that they “make skin look good—not the other way around” through its campaign.
