McDonald’s is rumored to launch its own special Happy Meal toys in celebration of Pokémon’s 25th anniversary.
The toys, which will include promotional holographic trading cards, are rumored to launch in February. The lineup is said to carry 25 cards, featuring different Pokémon starters from the series.
You may even stand a chance to win a Pikachu gaming card, which was a starter in Pokémon Yellow, and other series’ starters from Kanto to Galar.
This trading card edition will bear a special 25th Anniversary star stamp and will be printed on unique holofoil paper.
According to HYPEBEAST, a McDonald’s manager revealed that the promotional set will come in four-card booster packs. Each pack has four different starter Pokémon, with one of the cards being holographic and the other three being non-holographic.
This means that each of the 25 different cards could be available in non-holographic and holographic options, giving fans a total of 50 distinct cards to collect.
Although the Pokémon Company has not revealed the set, some McDonald’s stores have begun promoting it. A McDonald’s employee, @pokebeach, has confirmed that the booster packs will also be available to purchase separately.
The promotion is said to begin on 9 February.
I just went to my Mcdonald's for a coffee, they told me I'll be able to buy the booster packs separately. As noted in my news story, this varies by location. You might have to go on the hunt. https://t.co/m6o9sseUA0
