Pizza Hut has been looking back at some of its fondest memories lately, first by officially rebranding to a whole
vintage-inspired identity, and now by reminiscing circa dine-ins.
A large slice of pre-takeout and delivery days was the array of arcade cabinets that kept you entertained in Pizza Hut restaurants. The chain is now kneading past and present by teaming up with Bandai Namco to bring the whole
Pac-Man arcade experience to its packaging.
Pizza Hut’s new limited-edition boxes, complete with the retro Pizza Hut branding, are printed with the
Pac-Man maze—not only to serve as a throwback to the past but to also let you play
Pac-Man while biting down on a slice, just like in the good old days. Shooting your phone’s camera at the QR code on the boxes turns the packaging into a real-world interface, enabling you to play the video game
in augmented reality.

Dieline reports that fans who want more than flat-pack
Pac-Man can enter a sweepstakes for a chance to nab a full arcade cabinet.
If you ask us, bringing
Pac-Man back into the modern-day Pizza Hut experience is kind of smart because, coupled with suggestive chomping sounds, the character could subconsciously remind you of a pizza pie with a slice cut off. Feel hungry yet?
