Old Navy is taking shoppers’ requests into consideration, no matter how little the customers may be.
After a lesson about writing persuasive letters, a first-grader from Arkansas named Kamryn Gardner decided to put her learnings into practice by reaching out to Old Navy with a design frustration faced by females young and old: the fake pockets lined at the front of jeans.
“Dear Old Navy,” the seven-year-old began. “I do not like that the front pockets of the girl’s jeans are fake.” She then explained why front pockets are so important to her: “I want front pockets because I want to put my hands in them. I also would like to put things in them. Would you consider making girl’s jeans with front pockets that are not fake? Thank you for reading my request.”
Lo and behold, the fashion retailer responded with a handwritten note too. “Thank you so much for taking the time to write us about pockets on girl’s jeans,” Old Navy replied, according to CNN. “The Old Navy kids product team [appreciates] your information. It’s great feedback for us as we develop new [products].”
As proof of its sincerity, Old Navy also delivered four denim pairs—with actual pockets.
