The White House has released the official portraits of US president Joe Biden and vice president Kamala Harris.
The photographer behind both shots was chief official White House photographer Adam Schultz, who related to have taken the images in the White House Library on March 3.
Biden’s photo captures him in a suit and a blue tie, whereas Harris is seen to be in a navy blazer and is accessorized in pearls.
Typically, White House photographers would work with DSLR cameras for official portraits, but Schultz used a mirrorless Sony camera this time around, PetaPixel reports.
The first official portrait of former president Barack Obama, shot by Pete Souza, was the first official presidential portrait to be taken with a digital camera. He also posed for the first-ever 3D presidential portrait.
Donald Trump’s official portrait, released a day before his inauguration, was ruthlessly turned into memes by critics.
The images of Biden and Harris are to be hung in federal buildings across the United States.
