Brands like Balenciaga have pushed the envelope when it comes to footwear—has anyone forgotten its high-fashion take on Crocs? Now, Japanese brand Midorikawa’s collaboration with footwear label Suicoke and Italy-based Vibram’s FiveFingers has taken things to the next level. And it’s a sight to behold.
Midorikawa and Suicoke’s partnership has birthed one of the most striking shoes ever made – featuring the look of actual bare feet, complete with Vibram’s trademark separated toes and even painted toenails.
With the fleshy hue of the shoe and its glove-like fit, it looks like something out of an episode of Black Mirror. It will be available in three colorways: Ivory, Snow, and Mocha.
According to HYPEBEAST, Midorikawa has precedent for its design. Comme des Garçons had released ‘Bare feet’ shoes with the outline of a foot (also with red toenails) painted on the upper of each shoe.
These kicks are part of a Fall/Winter 2021 release, so we could see them out and about in just a couple months. Get ready.
