“Go anywhere, get anything,” reads Uber’s latest announcement. And the ride-sharing firm means it – you can now book a vaccination appointment through the app.
Uber is partnering with Walgreens to make getting a shot “as easy as booking a ride with Uber.” You can now reserve your vaccine appointment, as well as your ride there, all with just a few simple taps.
The firm says by making it easier to get to and from vaccine appointments, it hopes more people will choose to get vaccinated.
Plus, this new partnership will help Uber expand access to the vaccine throughout the country. It has committed 10 million free or discounted rides to ferry underserved communities and communities of color to and from their vaccine appointments.
It has also launched the Vaccine Access Fund together with Walgreens, PayPal, and the Local Initiatives Support Corporation to allow anyone to donate additional free rides to those who need it.
Thinking of going on a road trip? Uber has introduced Uber Rent, which allows you to book a rental car from Avis, Budget, Hertz, or other providers through the Uber app nationwide.
It’s also including a valet service, so your rental car will be brought right to your doorstep, and a valet driver will meet you after your trip to take the car back. This valet service is launching in Washington, DC this month and will be expanding nationwide later in the year.
Looks like Uber is planning to become the one-stop shop for all your needs, from ride-sharing to car rentals, food, and even vaccines.
