Last week, Kobe Bryant’s estate filed for over a dozen trademarks, spurring speculations that it would be starting its own clothing line after the split from Nike. Confirming the rumors, Bryant’s widow Vanessa has unveiled a brand-new Mambacita line.
The collection debuted on May 1, in honor of the 15th birthday of Gigi Bryant, who passed away in the same helicopter crash that killed the basketball player. The Mambacita range is named after the nickname given to Gigi by family members.
As reported by CNBC, 100% of the proceeds from the collection will go towards the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation, a nonprofit started in memory of Kobe and Gigi to benefit underserved youth in sports.
A Mambacita Kids Set retails for US$224, with the unisex Mambacita Adult Set going for US$332. You can also get the hoodies individually, or snag a purple or black Mambacita face mask to match.
Several NBA superstars and teams, including Kyrie Irving, Devin Booker, and the Lakers, purchased the collection for their entire team in a show of support for Vanessa Bryant and her family.
Currently, the entire collection has sold out, with no word on a possible restock. Sign up on the foundation's site for updates on future collections.
