Both President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris will have their lifesized wax figures unveiled at Madame Tussauds in New York City later this year. This will make Harris the first Vice President to have a wax figure dedicated to her in the museum.
The sculptures will be displayed in Madame Tussauds Oval Office experience, donning the outfits worn by their real-life counterparts on Inauguration Day.
The museum estimates the statues will take four to six months to sculpt, with the heads requiring a team of London artists weeks to complete.
“I feel like the most important features of Kamala Harris to get right are not only her lovely, warm and welcoming smile but also her eyes because I feel like she’s so engaging when she smiles,” said sculptor Vicky Grant.
NBC News reported that Christopher John Rogers, who designed Harris’ outfit for her swearing-in ceremony, will help design her wax figure’s outfit too.
