The White House has rolled out an artificial intelligence-focused website to cultivate understanding about how advanced technology can build the country’s future.
First reported by Axios, the new AI.gov aims to make public artificial intelligence information and research more accessible to anyone interested in the field. The public will be able to obtain “both the computing and the data that they need in order to do cutting-edge research,” Lynne Parker, director of the National Artificial Intelligence Initiative Office, shared with the news outlet.
The website will managed by the White House’s National Artificial Intelligence Initiative Office, newly started by Congress last year.
It will also detail how AI has already sped up work in the US, such as how it has supported the COVID-19 response and weather forecasting.
Most excitingly, the website includes a portal displaying related scholarships and fellowships, making AI-driven careers more reachable for interested students.
