One of Mother Nature’s best gifts is when the sun hits the ground just about right, offering the perfect glow for photographs. Called the golden hour, it only occurs during two short windows of the day: around sunrise and sunset.
It’s pretty tricky to catch the magic hour, so if you have a shoot planned that day, you might want to check this tool out. Photo printing company Inkifi has launched ‘The Golden Hour Index’, which reveals the exact timeframe to take those glorious photos that day, based on where you live.
The calculator mainly focuses on cities in the UK, but Inkifi has also included timings for potential travel destinations for 2021. To determine the golden hour for each location, the index finds out sunset and sunrise times from sunrise-and-sunset.com. All you have to do is enter your location and the date you intend to carry out your outdoor shoot.
Of course, there are a few other things you can do to get ready for this photo-ready moment. For example, arrive before the stipulated time, and be sure to check the weather before getting to the location.
You can check out the ‘The Golden Hour Index’ here.
