As the Olympics prepares to kick off in Tokyo, this year’s games will be missing one of its most important components: fans. However, Airbnb is offering exclusive experiences with Olympians and Paralympians through its Online Experiences program to help connect audiences with their favorite athletes.
Airbnb has partnered with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) to feature a new curated program just for the Tokyo 2020 games, starting on July 23 and ending August 8. There will be over 200 opportunities for fans to interact with their favorite Olympic and Paralympic athletes online, via video calls.
According to Hunker, for many of the Online Experiences, the athletes themselves will host the Zoom meeting, ensuring quality interaction up-close and personal. The roster includes “competing and retired athletes, spanning over 50 sports and 30 countries,” so you might just be able to chat with your current or past favorite sportspersons.
There are also some experiences that include virtual visits to the Olympic Games. For example, if you’re a fan of the ceremony and fanfare surrounding the Olympics, make sure to snag a ticket to ‘Behind the curtain of the Opening Ceremony‘ for just US$30 to hear directly from the Tokyo 2020 Olympics Ceremonies Executive Producer, Hioki Takayuki.
All bookings can be made on Airbnb’s website.
