In a recent update, Bloomberg Apple news reporter Mark Gurman said that Apple’s upcoming Watch 7 lineup will feature larger case sizes, and that the company will be adding new watch faces to accommodate them.
As cited by MacRumors, while the Apple Watch 6 lineup comes in 40mm and 44mm sizes, rumors are that the Series 7 will offer 41mm and 45mm instead. Gurman also said in his Power On newsletter that due to the larger display sizes, Apple will also be releasing new watch faces to complement the extra space.
“I’m told that Apple will bundle multiple new watch faces to take advantage of the bigger screen, including an updated Infograph Modular face. This will be the second time in the Apple Watch’s history that the company has increased the display size, following the Apple Watch Series 4 in 2017,” Gurman said.
Other than a larger display, the Series 7 has also been rumored to have a sleeker look, with the display stretching right to the edges of the watch. It’s also said to feature rounded corners and a dial.
Plus, Apple could extend its colorful iMac color scheme to the series, too, though which colors remains to be seen.
The new Apple Watch is expected to be revealed alongside the new iPhone 13 lineup at the next Apple Event, which will take place sometime in September.
