Architectural paint company Dulux recently revealed its 19th annual Color of the Year for 2022. Following a three-day virtual workshop with top designers and fashion experts, the panel landed on next year’s pick.
According to You Magazine, the panel wanted a color that would represent the current world we live in, as well as its up-and-coming fashion trends, architecture designs, and cultural events. Of course, the COVID-19 pandemic and its effect on our lives over the last year was also taken into consideration.
The official Dulux color of 2022, which encompasses all of life’s up and downs, is Bright Skies. This light and muted hue isn’t jarring, but sends a positive message that while we’re confined in our homes, we can still be connected to the limitless sky through our aesthetics.
“Right now, people want to feel revitalized and enjoy the freedoms that are returning to them, to look out and bring in new ideas. What better inspiration can we take than the endless skies around us?” quipped Marianne Shillingford, Creative Director of Dulux.
“It is widely known that nature makes us feel better and taking steps to bring the outside in enhances our sense of well-being,” she added.
Sounds dreamy? Bright Skies is now available in stores. Look out for its exclusive can that features a different look to other colors.
