A strange light-up signal reading “30” has interjected the exterior of some of the world’s most prominent highlights, to the bafflement of many.
Rather than a message from extraterrestrial beings or a visual metaphor of someone’s quarter-life crisis creeping up, though, fans suspect the worldwide stunt is a teaser for Adele’s upcoming album.
As B&T notes, the singer has a pattern of naming her albums after her age. Although she’s 33 years old, it seems she had been working on the rumored 30 for some years, and her divorce could have delayed the process.

Paris’ Louvre and Eiffel Tower, Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate, Rome’s Colosseum, and London’s Buckingham Palace, New York City’s Empire State Building, and even Rio de Janeiro’s Christ the Redeeemer appear to be among the several places to be projected with the mysterious billboard.
CNN reports that the English musician had possibly hinted the album’s title on her 31st birthday, writing in an Instagram post, “30 tried me so hard but I’m owning it and trying my hardest to lean into it all… 30 will be a drum [and] bass record to spite you.”
In addition, the typeface in the campaign seems to match the lightweight, rounded one used for the 21 album cover.
Australian television writer Gianni Borrelli says he was informed by “the gent running [a] projector” in Sydney that Sony Music had contracted the space. This is telling, as Adele has been signed to the company with a “multi-album contract” since 2016.
As of now, Sony Music hasn’t claimed responsibility for the advertisements nor commented on them, but fans think the message is loud and clear.
