YEEZY ‘Upgrades’ Infamous Foam Runners Into Monsters Resembling ‘Dinosaur Feet’

With Halloween just days away, YEEZY appears to have built a Frankenstein’s monster of its own. The internet, however, has other ideas of what it could be.
Over the weekend, Kanye West’s streetwear label teased the upcoming NSLTD BT—pronounced “Insulated Boot”—in Khaki. The chunky mid-calf boot, which made its first appearance at the YEEZY Season 8 runway show, features a sleeping bag-like upper and a sole not unlike that of the notorious Foam Runners.
“Cop or drop?” the brand asked fans on social media. It probably already knew the answer.
Highsnobiety notes that the footwear is reminiscent to moon boots worn by astronauts, though its similarities run a little closer to home too. Thus far, social media users have likened the NSLTD BT to dinosaur or elephant feet, and even an “oven mitt college dropout,” as one so poetically puts it in the comments section of YEEZY’s Instagram post.
“Y’all ever seen Land Before Time?” one person asks. “I gotta see this on somebody, ’cause right now it’s not giving what it needs to give,” says another.
Jokes aside, these boots are very real and will be priced at US$250. YEEZY expects that they’ll be ready soon, though they won’t be here in time to help you put together a believable triceratops Halloween costume. November would be a more realistic release date.
