Breakups can be torturous, especially when you’re the one who’s been left. And with Sydney’s lockdown restrictions finally being lifted, there are more people who’ve experienced them, ahem, firsthand than you think.
Under its Play Safe campaign, Durex Australia has released a short film in the point of view of a hand after it’s been broken up with by its owner-cum-partner. The amusing video was created by advertising agency Inside Ideas Group.
The commercial shows what the hand has been up to after being cast aside, dealing with the realization that this was just a lockdown relationship. It goes through the familiar steps of binge-eating ice cream with its own tiny little hands, and being surrounded by tissues from all the… sobbing.
Meanwhile, the hand’s ex is quick to find new love in the form of an actual human being.
“We played with ourselves. Now we can play with others,” remarks the condom brand.
