On Monday, Budweiser released its first non-fungible tokens (NFTs), jumping on the bandwagon that the world of digital assets has brought about.
Called the Budverse Cans Heritage Edition, this project sees a colorful collection of 1,936 Budverse Cans—a number chosen in homage to the original 1936 iteration of the iconic Budweiser can.

Each NFT is described by the brand as “one of a kind,” and has been “generated using archived photos, ads and designs from throughout Budweiser’s storied history.”
In addition to this, each token also acts as sort of an entrance ticket to the Budverse: touted as the “best beer community in the metaverse.” This isn’t the beer company’s first foray into the new digital landscape, though. Just this August, the company bought a US$25,000 NFT of a rocket with its logo on the side, per Insider.
Of the 1,936 Etherum-based tokens, 36 of them are considered ‘Gold’, which is a marker of their rarity. These come with exclusive benefits and rewards for the owners, and are priced at US$999. The others are of the ‘Core’ tier, which are priced at US$499 and come with their own different type of benefits.

Both of these tiers require an additional US$75 to cover the gas fee. And, all owners have to be above the legal drinking age of 21 before being able to purchase one.
As of writing, all the tokens are sold out; Ad Age reports they were all gone in under an hour. However, they can still be found over on OpenSea.
