Corona To Open Its Own Natural Island With A Love Of Earth At Its Core

Like many, Corona had had a pretty rough year or so. Thankfully, it can soon escape to its own island destination filled with beers and nature.
Located “in the heart of the Caribbean Sea,” the new Corona Island promises to bring exactly what people expect of an island getaway: untouched land with pristine waters and sandy beaches. And it’s expected to stay this way—the retreat will be all about the earth and sustainability, with workshops on plastic-free living to a farm with locally-sourced ingredients and meditation sessions, TravelPulse reports.
Corona is also in the midst of being qualified as the first fully Blue Verified Island by Oceanic Global, a nonprofit aimed to protect international water bodies, which would assess how the island will cut down on single-use plastics and implement an efficient waste management system.
To safeguard the island’s natural features, only a small number of visitors will be let in at any one time, which, in a way, would allow Corona to properly ensure social distancing measures are upheld.
“Corona Island is unlike anything we’ve ever done before,” says Corona’s global vice president Felipe Ambra in a statement. “As a brand that's so deeply connected with nature, we wanted to pay respect to and celebrate the natural environment that supplies our 100 percent natural ingredients. Now more than ever, people have a need to safely reconnect with the outdoors. We’re inviting people from around the world to come together and combine education with responsible tourism. Our hope is that when guests return home, they'll have fallen in love with nature again.”
“When people are in love with someone or something, they always do their best to protect it—that’s our objective with Corona Island,” adds Ambra.
Sweepstakes will be held for residents of Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Paraguay, Peru, and South Africa for a chance to go on an all-expenses-paid vacation to the island, which will open in Spring 2022.
