Banksy’s newest artwork is an abstract piece featuring strokes of paw prints. What we left out is that Banksy here is a rescue dog who has a knack for painting on canvas, according to his human caretakers.
While he awaits his future owners to fall in love with him, the “misunderstood dog,” also from Bristol, is enjoying art around the city and channeling these muses into paintings, the BBC reports. One of his latest pieces is a recreation of human Banksy’s Cat and Dog, painted using his nose and paw.

“Banksy really enjoys creating the artworks,” says the Bristol Animal Rescue Center, where he currently resides. “It’s a great enrichment activity for him to do with his carers.”
Due to a rough start to life, Banksy the pooch has a “boisterous and mouthy” disposition that surfaces in unfamiliar settings, and as a result, he’s stayed in the center longer than his canine neighbors have. What adopters should know is that he’s simply “a misunderstood dog with lots of potential” and in fact is “a lovely dog with a cheeky personality,” describes the shelter’s manager Jodie Hayward.
With that being said, Banksy is more suited for homes that don’t have other dogs, cats, or kids. He also has to be exercised away from other dogs and needs to wear a muzzle on walks.
His own artwork will go under the hammer in the new year in hopes to support the animal shelter’s lifework. “The brilliant thing about [his art] is that every penny raised from his art will go towards helping, healing, and homing the vulnerable animals in our care,” says the organization.
