Adidas Releases Final Xbox Sneakers That Play Hard On Console Elements

This year marks the Xbox’s 20th birthday, an anniversary that has seen some interesting collaborations sprout up in celebration.
One of Microsoft’s partners for this milestone is Adidas, and the companies have created no few sneakers inspired by the iconic console. On Tuesday, the third and final design, named the Adidas Forum Tech Boost was unveiled.
Inspired by the Xbox Series X, “the fastest, most powerful Xbox console ever,” the shoe’s black base is adorned with neon green and “tech-driven” details. On the inner lining of the shoe, its elements are said to represent the green vents of the console.
“Overall, we wanted to create a shoe that cemented a moment in time, but also felt timeless,” writes Xbox.
“The partnership [with Adidas] centered around our shared heritage of play, releasing sneakers that collectors and gaming fans alike would be thrilled to wear.”
With a green heel and translucent sole, the Forum Tech Boost also pays tribute to the Xbox 20th Anniversary Wireless Controller Special Edition, which was released in tribute to the original Xbox debug kit. In particular, the controllers’ grips are reflected in this sneaker’s design.
So, if you’ve ever wanted to match your sneaker to your gear, well, this one is for you.
The Forum Tech Boost is priced at US$140 on Adidas’ website, which Collider notes is lower than the previous two collaboration sneakers, the Xbox 20th Forum Tech and Xbox 20th Forum Mid. Unfortunately, at time of writing, it appears to be sold out.
