Trump’s Truth Social Network Struggles To Be ‘Fully Operational’ As Promised

Former US president Donald Trump’s new social network, Truth Social, which launched earlier this year on President’s Day, has had quite the rollercoaster journey.
Despite immediately rising to the top of Apple’s App Store rankings—with 85,000 signups in the first day alone—the app has since failed to address its snaking waitlist, which has grown from 500,000 in the first week to over 1.3 million impatient individuals.
As the clock ticked past midnight on April 1, Forbes reports that the site had failed its promise to be “fully operational” by the end of March. Plus, due to the ever-increasing waitlist, downloads of the app have reportedly plummeted from the heights of its release.
According to The Wrap, Trump’s platform has seen a staggering 93% drop in signups and traffic, which could very well be due to its rocky rollout.
Furthermore, Reuters reported this week that Josh Adams and Billy Boozer, who were in charge of the app’s technology and product development departments, have recently departed from the company—a signal that things aren’t going as smoothly as hoped.
Will Truth Social find its feet and address the million users waiting to join its “free from political discrimination” platform? Or will the influx of new accounts lead to further claims of censorship? We’ll find out only if people successfully get off the waitlist.
