Condor is a flying postcard of balmy beach vacations. The German leisure airline has rebranded, and everything from its livery to uniforms will now be covered in vibrant candy stripes.
The striking visual identity, designed by Berlin creative agency Vision Alphabet, denotes the nostalgia travelers get when they look back on their memories of past vacations, as well as channels the anticipation of future vacations, CNN Travel notes.
The stripes, which remind of props you find at beaches—like parasols, beach chairs, and bath towels—are presented in five colors: island green, sunshine yellow, sea blue, beach beige, and passionate red. The vivid spectrum also signifies Condor’s diverse guests, employees, and “the multitude of opportunities to discover the world with Condor,” says the airline.

The first of the striped aircraft, a yellow A321, set off from Frankfurt, Germany, and landed on the Spanish island of Lanzarote on April 5. The overhaul marks brighter days for Condor, whose former owner Thomas Cook went into liquidation in September 2019.
The company reveals that, besides being splashed on its livery, the stripes will take over crew uniforms, cups, blankets, and cutlery, along with on-the-ground materials like boarding passes, ID cards, and airport signage in the coming weeks and months.
Condor projects that 80% of its fleet will be repainted in the stripes by 2024 “because new paint jobs are due anyway.” It is approaching the rebrand in “the most sustainable way” possible. “Nothing of [the] old design [is] being disposed of, but everything [is] being used up,” the company explains.
