Original Word Game ‘Scrabble’ Arrives Online After ‘Wordle’s Popularity
By Alexa Heah, 14 Apr 2022

Before Wordle, there was Scrabble, and the latter—arguably the world’s most ubiquitous word game—wants to remind you of its existence, on National Scrabble Day (April 13), no less.
Scopely, the makers of Scrabble GO, have launched an all-new online platform for Scrabble Web, so you can pit yourself against wordsmiths from all around the globe right from your device.
At the moment, the site is in beta testing in the US and Canada, and only allows players to have a go at one game at a time, though the team has promised it’s working on an update that would allow you to battle various users at once.
Plus, unlike Wordle, Scrabble Web will feature its own Scrabble Web Tournaments, in which community members can participate in or spectate as the world’s best players go head-to-head!
Before heading into your first bout, why not check out the blog with tips from expert players, or brag about your largest-ever score in the forum?
