They say much of taste comes from smell—which means if you’re feeling peckish and there’s no food in the fridge, you should take a whiff of something first?
The food candle market is, surprisingly, heating up. So far, KFC, Krispy Kreme, and IKEA have all unleashed their own candles. It’s clear to see that Shake Shack has a burning desire to launch some too, so it’s partnered with home fragrance label Apotheke to turn its famed burgers, fries, and milkshakes into an olfactory tasting menu.
The Shake Shack x Apotheke collaboration brings two fragrances: ‘Burger In The Park’ and ‘Shake & Fries’. The candles rely on Apotheke’s ‘ScentTrek’ technology to capture scent components of the original foods.

‘Burger In The Park’ denotes the first bite of a ShackBurger “in the fresh spring air of NYC’s Madison Park,” where the original Shake Shack joint is located. It features notes of griddle smoke, fresh tomato, and ShackBurger, and natural features like green grass, daffodils, magnolias, oakwood, redbud petals, and moss complete the “In The Park” elements.

‘Shake & Fries’ replicates “that first dip of a salty, crispy crinkle-cut fry into a creamy milkshake,” and comprises ingredients that sound more palatable—namely sea salt, ‘Pastry Cream Delight’, fried potato, malted milk, sugar, sweet vanilla, and amber.
