Apple’s Upcoming iOS 16 Will Allow You To Delete Default Apps You Never Use
By Alexa Heah, 16 Jun 2022
If there’s one complaint most iOS users have, it’s that Apple doesn’t always allow you to delete its default applications on the iPhone, even if you’re never going to use them.
Thankfully, as reported by 9to5Mac, the recent iOS 16 developer beta shows that the forthcoming update will enable users to uninstall even more of these applications, including Find My, Health, and Clock.
It’s important to note, however, that removing these applications from your iPhone most likely means you’ll lose access to their functions, too.
While deleting Find My will not turn off the built-in features, you will no longer be able to locate your devices and accessories without accessing the application, which can be re-downloaded anytime.
Following this change, the only native Apple applications that still can’t be deleted are Phone, Safari, Messages, and of course, the App Store.
In addition, iOS 16 will see the company introduce an all-new, tailored lock screen that’s touted to completely change the iPhone experience, as well as bring back the “feel of typing” with keyboard vibrations.
