Apple Is Apparently Working On A Different Watch For Athletes & Fitness Buffs

Apple is rumored to be creating a watch for sports enthusiasts everywhere. Set to be a bigger and more durable version of its current collection, the wearable could sport a larger screen and a protective casing for added protection.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman cites people familiar with the project that the watch will be able to endure extreme activities and turbulent weather. It could have a larger two-inch display—said to boast a 7% increase from the screen of the largest watch which stands at 45mm—to be able to accommodate more workout metrics.
For those worried a larger screen will compromise the resolution, the watch is believed to come with a resolution size of 410 by 502 pixels and will retain the same clarity as its peers.
The watch’s body would likely be made from a stronger, currently-unnamed metal material along with the usual aluminum.
Athletes who participate in extreme sports and are worried about the watch’s face smashing will be pleased to know that its surface is supposedly becoming even more crack-resistant. A beefed-up battery is possibly in the works to provide longer workouts.
Performance metrics when doing activities such as swimming or the elevation of a hiking trail can potentially now be computed by the watch.
There is no further word as of now on what the watch might be called or when it could be released. However, Gurman further speculates that it may support the new S8 processor, as well as health features like checking for fevers, which are apparently coming to the regular Apple Watches.
