McDonald’s & Adidas Order Up Sneakers That Tastefully ’Unwrap’ Themselves
By Nicole Rodrigues, 15 Jul 2022
Some McDonald’s lovin’ goes into a pair of classic Adidas Forum 84 High sneakers in a remix fast-food fans won’t be able to refuse.
Designed by New York sportswear brand Eric Emanuel with the Golden Arches and Three Stripes, the footwear incorporates McDonald’s branding in a look that looks better with age. The brown upper, dotted with the McDonald’s logo and Eric Emanuel’s own branding, is inspired by the iconic paper bags and is meant to wear away with time.
The outer layer of the shoe is made of tear-away leather and slowly peels away, revealing a cream underneath, with the lacing system dyed in McDonald’s famous red, Adidas ‘French fries’ revealing themselves, as well as Emanuel’s logo etched in yellow stitching on the side of the sneaker.
The collaboration is in honor of the McDonald’s All-American Games, in which boys and girls from all-star high school basketball teams compete.
The shoes’ international release has begun on atmos Tokyo’s website, and an Adidas release is on the way.
