Samsung Debuts 55-Inch Rotating Monitor To Maximize Work & Play On Your Desk

Samsung’s new 55-inch curved monitor stretches out the corners of your workspace.
The Odyssey Ark comes with a 165hz refresh rate and a 1 millisecond response time, ideal for gaming. The monitor also upgrades all content to 4K resolution, and itsmini-LED panel arrives with HDR2000 and a peak brightness of 2,000 nits.
It runs on the Tizen OS, the same as Samsung’s smart TV line, and can be controlled using the Ark Dial or by the brand’s Smart Remote.
It comes with its own Game Bar so that players can easily adjust their settings while playing a video game. And it also has its own game store called the Gaming Hub, where users can easily surf through a host of new content and games.
It is also fully rotatable, so you can pretend to sit and read emails in an iMAX view, or you can turn the screen lengthways to have your monitor loom over you.
The new vertical position, known as the ‘Ark Mode’, is intended to support both gaming and multitasking, being able to split into four screens at once.
The screen itself has a matte finish to cut glare when in use, and it also has four speakers with Dolby Atmos surround sound.
The Ark utilizes a tilting and pivoting system to get it into the perfect position for you to use. It also includes a VESA mount in case you prefer to have it installed directly onto your wall.
Samsung is now selling the Odyssey Ark at US$3,500, with preorder customers getting up to US$300 off the price.
