Barack Obama Wins Emmy For Netflix Nature Series He Narrates
By Alexa Heah, 06 Sep 2022

Back in March, Netflix announced Barack Obama would lend his voice to Our Great National Parks, a nature documentary on protected flora and fauna across the globe.
The five-part series featured national parks on five continents, from the Tsavo National Park in Kenya to Indonesia’s Gunung Leuser National Park, and the Chilean Patagonia.
It seems the former US president’s efforts have paid off, winning him the Emmy Award for “outstanding narrator.”
According to CNN, Obama is now the second US president to have won the award, with Dwight Eisenhower being the first to receive an honorary Governors Award by the Television Academy in 1956.
Interestingly, this now means the former Head of State is halfway to an EGOT—otherwise known as someone who’s received Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Awards. Obama had previously bagged home two Grammys for the audio versions of his memoirs.
While it doesn’t seem likely the former POTUS will be starring in a Broadway play anytime soon, it’s still possible he’ll one day join the ranks of the most lauded in the entertainment business.
