Adidas Turns Athletes Into Running Discount Billboards—If You Can Catch Them
By Alexa Heah, 13 Oct 2022
To spread the message about Adidas’ new headphones specially designed for runners, the sportswear giant has tasked athletes with taking to the streets as the “world’s first running billboards.”
In the interactive campaign by creative agency M&C Saatchi Stockholm, passersby who can keep up on foot with a team of elite runners from Stockholm Run Club—each adorned with a lightweight billboard meant just for sprinting—will receive a 50% discount off the gadget by scanning the QR code.
A pair of the Adidas FWD-02 Sport In-Ear headphones, which promises “total freedom” for runners, will usually set you back US$169.99, so half-off is a pretty good deal.
According to the brand, the headphones’ superior ergonomics ensure the earbuds stay in place throughout your entire run, with sweat-proof and glove-friendly intuitive controls that can be adjusted even while you’re busy setting laps.
