Kanye West Plans To Construct Mini-City In A Self-Governed ‘Yecosystem’

It’s no secret Kanye West has a penchant for filing trademarks, from a quirky blue logo for an unknown fashion brand to an entire chart of future plans the media mogul has for his Donda organization.

Now, reports have emerged that the rapper has yet again filed new trademarks, this time for ‘Yecosystem’ and ‘Yeezyverse’, which, unlike his previous fashion-related ventures, are part of a “universe” he intends to construct.    

It’s likely the project will be headed under ‘Yecosystem’, with the designer’s team having registered a website domain in that name, together with a mail server. Other variations, such as ‘Yzyverse’ and ‘Yxyverse’, may have been filed as backups.

According to Rolling Stone, sources described the vision as a “self-sustained enterprise” that will include West-branded homes, retail stores, food items, and beverages. And it seems this world isn’t just conjecture, with plans to launch the first mini-city as early as next month.

If the idea takes off, it’s possible West could expand these communities to various regions across the country, hoping to create something as world-changing as Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, or Jeff Bezos have done with their companies. 

It’s notable that the eccentric personality is deviating from the usual apparel and retail goods, with the filings comprising a range of drinks, pre-made alcoholic beverages and liquors, raw fruits and vegetables, snacks, and even candy for the first time. 

Not stopping just there, the publication revealed the organization could be looking to offer an entire suite of services, even reaching the beauty, nutrition, interior design, and public relations sectors. 

Dreaming even bigger, ‘Yecosystem’ has already filed for a production arm that could be looking to create movies, television series, and a possible online media site featuring content “on a recording artist in the fields of beauty, fashion, modeling, acting, music, [and] the arts.” 

Housing, manufacturing, and entertainment aside, West appears to have associated a philanthropic cause with this “universe,” with the documents indicating plans for charitable services, including reproductive healthcare, childhood education, and “biological cloning.” 

While all of this may seem like a pipe dream, a source said the celebrity’s ambitions were coming “from a good place,” and that he was hoping to leave “a good impact on the world.” 

Will any of these lofty plans come to pass? One can only wait and see.
