Picture-perfect memories are hard to come by. Now, you can orchestrate your own in an instant. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Picsart has launched a feature that automatically wipes out toxic exes or frenemies from photos and replaces them with more appealing objects—or, if you’re feeling extra poetic, visual metaphors of how they treated you.

An interesting take on the new wave of AI art generators out there, ‘AI Replace My Ex’ is exactly as ridiculous and amazing as it sounds. It lets you preserve photos where you look super cute while erasing evidence of someone’s existence from your life. “Valentine’s Day is approaching and you likely have loads of pictures of you and your ex-boyfriend-girlfriend or even ex-best friend in your camera roll,” the Picsart team tells DesignTAXI. “With Picsart’s new AI Replace feature, you can turn these images from dreadful to funny and joyful in just a few seconds.”

Then, using just text, you can swap out now-strangers with something more on-the-nose, like a snake or red flag. If you’re all about clinging to the positive, a baguette, steak, or ice-cold beer will make great substitutes too.

Currently available on iOS devices only, ‘AI Replace Your Ex’ can be accessed via the ‘+’ sign at the bottom of the app. You simply have to perform the uncomfortable step of uploading a picture of you and your ex, then scroll across the toolbar to find ‘Draw’, select ‘AI Replace’, and brush over the unwanted figure to point the AI to the walking red flag.

Android users, fret not. Your time to digitally forget someone will be here soon enough, as Picsart intends to bring this feature to more mobile devices.

Fair warning: get petty, but not too petty. The tool allows a limited number of ex-related image generations.
