Apple Releases 30-Minute Bollywood Film That Takes ‘Shot On iPhone’ To New Level

Apple, as a way to market its imaging technology in its iPhone lineup, has long been featuring stunning photographs and videos with the tagline “shot on iPhone.” Now, the technology giant is pushing its camera capabilities to the next level, filming an entire Bollywood film on the device.
Just using an iPhone 14 Pro, award-winning director Vishal Bhardwaj captured the entirety of the musical Fursat, a film centered on celebrating the power of love. Through the 30-minute-long short, the plot shows “how love can be found and cherished when appreciating the present.” The duration exceeds that of Apple’s nearly 18-minute Chinese New Year film released just weeks back.
Of course, just like any good Bollywood movie, Fursat has all the components that can’t be missed—catchy songs and choreographed dances feature in this non-commercial film that the firm described as on a “never seen before” scale.
Through this project, Apple hopes to convey to creatives worldwide that photographers and filmmakers are no longer held back by the lack of professional equipment. Rather, the only thing required is imagination and determination.
Several features on the iPhone 14 Pro were designed with videographers in mind. For example, Action Mode allows filmmakers to capture smooth shots by preventing shaking, vibrations, and other disruptive motions.
With the quality of the footage shown in Fursat even exceeding what could be captured on professional-grade cameras years ago, there’s nothing holding back current creatives from seeing their visions come to life.
