Bing’s AI Chatbot Reveals A Secret Feature To Imitate Your Favorite Celebrities
It turns out Microsoft’s artificial intelligence chatbot, which it built into Bing to facilitate supercharged searches, has been hiding a few secrets. Recently, it was revealed that users could choose one of three distinct personalities when seeking answers from the search engine.
Now, according to BleepingComputer, it has been discovered that the chatbot can access a secret ‘Celebrity’ mode, allowing users to prompt the system to impersonate famous figures, even answering questions and talking like the person it’s mimicking.
While the mode cannot be accessed via the default Bing Chat webpage, it appears when asked, describing the feature as allowing one to “chat with a virtual version of a famous person,” be it an actor, performer, or athlete.

Once this function has been activated, type in the celebrity name with a hashtag to begin the show, which allows users to query the AI on the person’s life, career, hobbies, and opinions—all of which will be delivered by the chatbot in a way that matches the person’s “personality and style.”
As the publication noted, Microsoft has built-in safeguards to ensure the feature doesn’t just imitate anyone. Only world leaders and A-listers seem to be available at the moment, such as Elon Musk, Barack Obama, LeBron James, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and more.
If the usual celebrities aren’t really your thing, Bing Chat offers impersonations of fictional characters as well, ranging from Harry Potter to Star Wars characters, Sherlock Holmes, and even Gollum.
