Nikon Strapped A Dog With A Camera That Snapped Photos Every Time He Got Excited

Us humans, we prize memories that are manicured to perfection. A dog’s favorite moments are far simpler, and thanks to this wholesome project, we can finally have a glimpse of them literally through its lens.
As My Modern Met reports, years back, Nikon Asia gave a dog a Coolpix L31 point-and-shoot camera and sent him on an adventure around the neighborhood. The camera was a special one as it triggered the shutter each time Grizzler the dog spotted something that made him happy or excited.
As suggested in the initiative’s name, Heartography, the device’s mechanism was activated whenever the in-built heart monitor sensed that Grizzler’s heart rate was up, capturing a picture when this happened. The pooch’s heartbeat was transmitted via Bluetooth to the ‘Heartography SmartCase’ that held the camera.
Nikon Asia compiled these sweet photos into a montage that proved just how pure these furry friends are. Grizzler got hoppy when he crossed paths with other dogs and animals, and even sightings of flip-flops had his heart pumping.
Not every photo made the video, however. “Due to Grizzler’s active running and jumping on his adventure, many shots were blurred—reflective of Grizzler’s energy!” Nikon explained.
A day in the life of the furball teaches us that it’s the little joys that matter. “And that’s the story of how I became a pho-dog-grapher,” our star appears to narrate.
See what Grizzler the dog captured in the snapshots below.
