An ‘Untitled Folder’ Wallet To Store Your Assets From The Real World
By Mikelle Leow, 13 Apr 2023
That folder of miscellaneous items on your desktop that you’ll never open now has a use… in your jean pocket. New York-based artist and designer Nikolas Bentel has recreated the 2D Mac icon as a flat object that somewhat does the same thing as its digital counterpart: store things.
Bentel—who previously created a pluggable electrical cord bag made of real wires—finds his niche in reimagining everyday objects, turning the ordinary into things that surprise. This time, he’s pondered on the question: “What if we reimagined the Mac folder icon into a usable wallet?”

The resulting ‘Untitled Folder’ Wallet replicates the blue-hued graphic in soft, duotone vegan leather. The 4 x 3-inch accessory is flat like the icon, fitting seamlessly in your pocket.
The wallet has three pockets, but it can hold up to four cards—or four credit card-sized JPEGs, we guess.
With that said, reproducing this icon in real life isn’t as simple as dragging and dropping objects around the computer. The Untitled Folder wallet, sold for US$49, will only be available in a limited count of 500, with a lead time of five to six weeks.
What’s next—a physical replica of the save icon? Oh wait.
