Frog and Toad are leaping to screens in an animated kids and family show based on Arnold Lobel’s Caldecott and Newbery Honor-winning books.
“Frog is a frog. Toad is a toad. They have a lot in common… but they are also very different,” reads the synopsis by Apple TV+, which is streaming the animation and has just released its official trailer.
The series follows two best friends who bond over their similarities, while also embracing their differences. “Since our differences are what makes us special, Frog and Toad celebrate what makes them unique!” the description continues.
As noted in the trailer, the show will feature some seriously nostalgic artwork that mirrors the illustrations of the four-book series.
The adaptation of the beloved HarperCollins Children’s Books is spearheaded by Emmy Award winner Rob Hoegee, with studio Titmouse of Big Mouth fame handling production. Helping to bring the tale to life are the voices of some prominent actors: Nat Faxon (Our Flag Means Death and The Connors) will play Frog, while Kevin Michael Richardson (The Simpsons and Family Guy) will voice Toad.
Other notable names lending their voices to the series include Tom Kenny, the voice of SpongeBob Squarepants; Ron Funches (Trolls); Fortune Feimster (Good Fortune and Kenan); Cole Escola (At Home with Amy Sedaris); and Aparna Nancherla (The Great North).
Follow the amphibian pair on their adventures, which will kick off on Apple TV+ on April 28.
