‘Jeopardy’ Stokes Type Geeks With Fonts Quiz Round—See How Well You’d Have Done
By Mikelle Leow, 16 May 2023
How fond are you of fonts? If they underline your passion and make your heart feel three sizes larger, then you probably would have aced this round of Jeopardy!.
Last week, the NBC game show introduced a fonts category, called ‘A Real Font of Knowledge’, that grilled participants’ knowledge of typography.
The category was made up of five questions, and they referenced things like Stanley Morison’s three-worded editorial typeface from 1932, the industry-standard choice for screenplays, and a typeface that had its own documentary in 2007. You can peer at all of them below.
A big, fat hint (maybe skip this part if you want to do this thing sans-spoilers): each clue is written in the typeface it is alluding to.
The answers are revealed in the video below.
If you managed to breeze through this, then you might be a worthy Jeopardy! contestant and could have bagged up to US$6,000 home from this category alone.
Here’s a fun fact: The typeface often seen in the quiz show’s clues is… what is ‘Korinna’?
