A ‘TV Dinner’ Made Out Of Ice Cream, Just For Adults
By Mikelle Leow, 14 Jun 2023
This frozen meal is indeed frozen, but you don’t have to heat it up.
Disguised as the TV dinners of your childhood, this dish is made up of 100% dessert. Life Raft Treats, reputed for its trippy ice-cream drumsticks shaped like fried chicken, has crafted the full spread of ice cream treats for Father’s Day.
Did we mention that this TV dinner is for adults only, thanks to it being laced with booze? Go ahead and have ice cream for dinner—no one’s stopping you.
Served in an aluminum dish, the ‘Hungry Dad Father’s Day Tray’ features “peas and carrots,” which are really white chocolate “carrot” pieces and crunchy pearls served atop a base of cake doughnut ice cream; and “creamed corn” crafted from bourbon ice cream, a classic oatmeal cookie, and white chocolate “corn niblets.”
There’s also a section of “mashed potatoes and gravy,” which is a scoop of peanut butter ice cream with a brown butter blondie, drenched in a caramel sauce.
The star item is, of course, Life Raft Treats’ faux fried chicken, complete with a chocolate cookie “bone.”
Only this time, the “meat” is constructed from an alcoholic chocolate stout ice cream.
Being a responsible adult, you should know that everything is to be consumed in moderation, including ice cream and booze. As such, this meal is meant to be shared between four to six people… which explains its relatively steep US$45 price.
For US residents living in or near Charleston, South Carolina, the delectable treat can be purchased on the Life Raft Treats website or picked up at its store. Those residing outside this area can still order a two-pack for US$129.95, inclusive of shipping, on Goldbelly.
